Painting Portals

    This latest body of work features acrylic paint on gessoed canvas and with others backed by wood panel. I chose to name each of the eight pieces, Portals 1 of  8 through Portals 8 of 8 chronicling each painting. 

The series explores multidimensional travel of the soul through the image of the vulva and oval shapes. Like each traveler, each portal is unique, from the natural to more robust color concepts to the vivid cleaner more modern lines. 

    These paintings are abstract, modern with loose strokes and vibrant color not completely concealing or revealing the nature of the true image. I created this series to instinctually trigger the idea of our own cosmic journey through the universe and birthed into existence.
